QueryCAT, is a new search engine that has indexed FAQs from all over the web and made them searchable from a single site. Its an interesting take on the “vertical search engine” in that it is not topic specific, but instead searches a specific “format” of web page. The service uses Alexa Web Search Platform (AWS) to index over 2 million questions and answers as crawl and unique question recognition technology to power the search.

Kevin Carey, QueryCAT Founder, told us “We believe that a comprehensive FAQ search will be a very valuable tool for many people”. He added : “In addition to our own site, querycat.com, we plan to offer the FAQ database and question recognition technology to other companies that want to add FAQ search to their own site.”
The service is pretty fast and I find it very useful also to search FAQs in a single place. A very interesting application of AWS webservice, check it out http://www.querycat.com.
