Slashdotted, the new bookmarking system “Places” which was planned for Firefox 2 have been disabled and removed from trunk. People testing FF2 and places have to export their bookmarks before updating to keep their old bookmarks. It’s a little disappointing to have some features removed from the next Firefox release, but there is certainly a good reason which is keeping the next Firefox stable and fast while the new “Places” still unpolished and buggy. Mozilla Developer news have posted an Important Message For Branch Nightly Users explaining how to preserve your bookmarks after this change.
