Dennis Hwang is the Google Webmaster whose work is seen by millions every time he exhibits on the Google homepage with very great drawings. The 28-year-old calls his drawings “doodles”. Google have started since last year a competition allowing students from UK schools to participate and create a doodle that represents what it means to be British today. The winning doodle, which will be displayed on the Google UK homepage for a day, will be seen by around 18 million people. This is the first nationwide Doodle 4 Google competition and is open to every school in the UK.

Since 2000, Dennis has celebrated and marked worldwide events and holidays with doodles that are designed on, around and through the Google logo on the site’s home page.
Special events such as Christmas, Valentine’s Day or Hanukah repeat each year but Dennis’ drawings never do. Dennis’ work has reached cult status. There are even websites and blogs devoted to his work. When he began rendering the doodles regularly, fans waited with baited breath to see his next creation.
