I was working for almost three years on telephony, voicexml, voip and telephony related technologies. The solutions developped are very promising, even with all the administrative and legislation issues that have been established in many countries toward the development of telephony technologies with internet to protect their current telecom companies or for any other reason that I really don’t understand.
Inspite of this, it will came a day where we’ll see all these technologies hit our everyday life. And I think that this day is coming ! ETEL, O’Reilly Emerging Telephony Conference, have been organized to host a unique event for the new telephony technologies with the participation of the most important industrial in IP Telephony and telecom such Tellme, Voxeo, Digium, France Telecom, ConceptLabs and much much more

ETEL isn’t an event only for industrials, but more interesting for developers and people interested into new telephony solutions. The conference will include many interesting sessions including case studies, business opportunities, Knowledge Sharing and innovators.
Many interesting workshops also with VXML, Skype, Asterisk, SIP, PBX, Speech processing and Text-to-speech and an interesting hack to convert your commodity Linux-based router (WRT54G) to a wireless telecom command center. And in addition to planned workshops there will be a Hacker Café where you can meet the frontline application Alpha geeks and see one-on-one demonstrations of their work.
Etel, O’Reilly Emerging Telephony Conference, is on January 24-26 at the San Francisco Airport Marriott more details and registration at their website http://conferences.oreillynet.com/etel/
