View your favorite RSS feeds right in Gmail as “Clips” along the top of your Gmail screen. Display clips from blogs, news sites and other online sources. Pick from the latest headlines, random popular feeds, or add any RSS/Atom feed you want.

I found it very intelligent for Gmail to alternate RSS display with the relevant ads, also this feature have been added in a very strategic and visible place. And as soon as it have been introduced I start viewing relevant ads which I found it not a good idea, because users will have to click to see what is this new links are about.
To configure this feature, you can go to your Gmail settings, then Web Clips. You can search then for a topic to add or just enter directly the url of the feed you want. In the morning when I test it it was not working, but currently I tryed to add feeds and it was updated. Also I have found lots of other feeds added, maybe I have done a wrong clicks somewhere ?
I think that the list of “My Clips” are also used to display relevant ads, because I have added the feed of AJAX Magazine, and the relevant ad I noticed first was about AJAX too. Anyway in the future google don’t want you to leave Gmail anymore and keep using their service to do everything : read the news, email, chat … etc.
