During the last years mobile technology have been developed to become day after day more popular. Today there is many websites and portals optimized for mobile phones. Many giants such Google, Yahoo! and MSN offer their services via a light version for mobile phones.
We’ll talk in this blog about technologies and solutions for mobile, browsers, mobile configurations and the optimizations to make websites better and easy to use with mobile phones.
I’ll try to review based on more than one mobile model. My Smartphone is an Imate SP3 using windows mobile 2003 with default IE as browser, very ugly, limited, but I have also Opera browser which is much better. I’ll use also a nokia 6670 with a default opera browser and maybe also the PDA Imate Jam with IE.
The idea is that smartphones and PDA don’t have the same size and screen resolution. Browsing in mobile is different from browsing on a normal browser with a resolution 1024×768 which is the most used now. Many consideration should be taken to make a website easy to navigate. Bandwidth with mobile don’t have the same price, so it’s better to work on website’s optimization and make size lighter
