Did you know about Quick Search ? It’s a nice feature on firefox that allow to you for example to type in the location bar : “google firefox” to search for the keyword “firefox” on google.

Creating Quick Search is very easy, let’s see the example of google. Open the Bookmarks manager then under “Quick Searches” right click on “Google Quicksearch” and choose property. You’ll notice that the keyword field is “google” and the location is “http://www.google.com/search?q=%s” So when you type “google keyword” in the location bar it perform a Google search for the specified keyword.

Now if I want to search for images on google about firefox I’ll do http://images.google.com/images?q=firefox. So to create a Quick search for images you can add a new bookmark with the following

  • Name : Images Quick search
  • Location : http://images.google.com/images?q=%s
  • Keyword : image
  • Description : Type “image search terms” in the location bar to perform a Google image search

Now everytime you type “image flower” in the firefox location bar it will perform a google image search for the keyword “flower”
