Ondřej Mirtes, the creator of PHPStan, have announced in a tweet a new feature available for PHPStan. Now you’ll be able to check the compatibility of your codebases without even having PHP 8 installed. In a short five seconds video shared with the tweet, Ondrej which shows a running PHPStan with PHP 7.4 in the background, PHPStan return an error in PHP8.0 since calls to function is_resource() with CurlHandle will always evaluate to false, which wasn’t the case in previous PHP7.1-4 versions.
The new feature is displayed in the PRO edition which is web-based and provides additional new features compared to the community edition, however the new functionality is also available in the cli which means everyone can use it.
