The PHP Security Consortium was first launched in 2005, but since that date the initiative didn’t see any new development even if it contributed with many interesting security resources to the PHP Community such the PHP Security Guide and the PHPSecInfo tool.

Founded in January 2005, the PHP Security Consortium (PHPSC) is an international group of PHP experts dedicated to promoting secure programming practices within the PHP community. Members of the PHPSC seek to educate PHP developers about security through a variety of resources, including documentation, tools, and standards.

Both the PHP security guide and the PHPSecInfo tool did not receive any updates or any attention since more than six years at least, and unfortunately the PHP Security Consortium disappeared quickly after it was first launched.

Why such great initiatives did not continue while it’s vital not only to the PHP community but to the whole ecosystem around it. Lots of PHP experts can make this project happens, and today it become crucial to relaunch it not as a small limited initiative but as a durable project for the future.

This is a small call to the PHP Community to relaunch the consortium,  hoping to hear some positive and constructive comments !
