Absolutely NO ! A quote by Florence Devouard, chairwoman of the Wikimedia Foundation, haven’t been understood in its context and many thought that this is the end of Wikipedia.
Florence said in Lift07 “At this point, Wikipedia has the financial ressources to run its servers for about 3 to 4 months. If we do not find additional funding, it is not impossible that Wikipedia might disappear”. Reported Philippe Mottaz.
This reflect more the current situation of WikiPedia and that any nonprofit organizations face. Getting funds isn’t that easy and we all know that wikipedia run about 350 servers, in addition to salaries, operating expenses, Paypal fees, travel expenses, Deprecation and others.
