Google have a new Java-based version of Google Maps for mobile, that you can get it just by pointing your mobile browser to wwwgoogle.com/gmm. There is a list of supported devices which is very large, and include almost all mobile phone supporting java technology. The mobile edition combine directions, maps, and satellite imagery, in a very light and small application optimized for mobile phones, the main features of Google maps for mobile :

Tips : better navigate using the default maps view, then switch to satellite view if you find the location you are looking for to get more details. Satellite images are more bandwidth consuming and so the navigation will usually cost much more.
