Usually weekends are slow here, traffic slow down, visitors, readers, but since it’s not my weekend I profit to work on lot of stuff here and there. This weekend was a little special, a Digg effect was registered yesterday make the traffic jump high !! Yes, today I was checking I found a 880 Reach per million and ranked 1,876 !
Something that I was very interested to experiment, because usually Digg effect (also slashdot) slow down websites if they don’t turn off. But PHPMagazine.net survived and kept serving all users without interruption. I have increased yesterday the monthly bandwidth limit to support such Internet effects.
A big thanks to everyone who participated in PHPMagazine.net and give us support and feedback. Stay tuned in the future because we are preparing lot of exciting things. Currently we finished the relooking but there is lot of small stuff that I want to do such some new logos, a page for our authors and partners, … a new software have been installed for the forum but we are still testing and testing. As usual there is always something to do !
We are now ranked 21,171 on alexa, our rank is increasing more higher than expected and we’ll keep working on it to make it more higher in the future. The question before was about our current server and how much traffic it can support, and the answer was positive, we are ready for the Top 5000 !
