PHPMagazine.net is no longer supporting trackbacks since today, we taken this decision because it become very annoying deleting spam and this attract more and more spammers. The problem is in the idea of Trackback itself which could not be controlled and make it an excellent tool for spammers to add links to their websites. I’m happy that I have eliminated a boring task of deleting spam everyday, in addition to the number of email I receive daily of trackbacks that escaped the spam detector and come directly to my email box awaiting validation.
This step will also add more performance to the website since we blocked all resources consuming that was used and abused by spammers. We are not the only website affected by trackback spam, and I think it’s interesting to start thinking about an alternative solution of trackback for bloggers which will provide in first place more security and more control on the protocol.
