To access this new feature you can use blogsearch.google.com, search.blogger.com, The Blogger Dashboard or The Navbar on any Blog*Spot blog. This will give it also a great exposure !
Google blog search include Google operators like link: site: intitle: but also some new operators like
- inblogtitle: To search in the blog title only, similar to the allinurl:
- inposttitle: Similar to intitle: but here notice that google make the difference between the blog title and the post title.
- inpostauthor: A very nice feature to allow searching content for a specified author
- blogurl: To search with a specified Blog URL.
Google explain how does Blog Search work :
Blog Search indexes blogs by their site feeds, which will be checked frequently for new content. This means that Blog Search results for a given blog will update with new content much faster than standard web searches. Also, because of the structured data within site feeds, it is possible to find precise posts and date ranges with much greater accuracy.
To be listed on Google Blog search google claim to use blogs which ping automated services such Weblogs.com. But I don’t know for some reason when I visited Weblogs.com I got a mysql errors showing that their server have a very high traffic

This have been said, Google Blog Search won’t make happy services such Technorati, feedster which were running slow and without a serious competitor. Google will certainly give an answer to service speed, but also providing the experience of the giant in search engines and content indexing just for bloggers !
