Google talk is officially launched, the instant messenger that we heared many rumors about it its confirmed today ! Google talk is beta as any new Google product, a small installer of 900Kb, you signin with your gmail account and it allow to add your contacts and talk with them text and via voice thanks to audio components included from Global IP Sound .
They say talk is cheap. Google thinks it should be free. Google Talk enables you to call or send instant messages to your friends for free–anytime, anywhere in the world
Personaly the first thing I noticed that it doesn’t support all proxy connections, I’m behind a firewall and there is no way to configure it, it doesnt connect anyway after long time of connection trial it just give me an error message. While it doesn’t give me the hand to cancel or do anything else than wait !!
The second thing that its available for Windows users only (XP/2000), Others operation system can use their common clients to connect to Google talk, there a complete list online.
The interface is pretty simple and beautiful in the same way of the latest google desktop released some days ago. I’ll try to see how I can make it working then I’ll tell you more about it.
